Dr. Dols joined the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions as Adjunct Faculty in 2009. She teaches a wide variety of courses in the graduate nursing program including statistics, informatics, resource management, policy, research, and is a project advisor for DNP Projects. She leads the Academic Practice Partnership with Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital to initiate and build Registered Nurses' skills and implementation of evidence-based practice and research.

Health and Disparities; Metrics and Dashboards; Evidence-Based Practice; Transplant Nursing; Workplace Structure and Organization, specifically safe practice environments, characteristics and behaviors of the nurse workforce including retention, alignment of incentives, care delivery variables and patient outcomes, and impact of computer technology, Nursing Competence including patient outcomes and safety and nursing leadership/management, and Nursing Education. She is currently focused on research on Human Trafficking.
