Students nominate faculty that has inspired and touched their academic and personal lives awardees are chosen by colleagues based on institutional contribution.
  • 2012 - University of the Incarnate Word, Technology Division, $500.00: This grant was awarded to be utilized for technology that is effective in developing flipped classroom during the instructional interaction.
  • 2012 - Student-Athlete Faculty and Staff Recognition: This recognition is awarded annually to one faculty member per student-athlete. Student-athlete invites faculty or staff that have made a significant difference in the athlete's academic experience.
  • 2013 - San Antonio Worksite Employee Wellness Award Silver Level :This award is presented annually through the San Antonio Community to recognize institutions that are encouraging and offering exceptional employee wellness programs. Award is honored through the institutional wellness committee and the members of that committee

  • 2015 - Graduate Assistant, $3,600.00: This grant was awarded to be used for the hiring of one graduate student to focus on research data collection and data entry
  • 2015 - Comal Education Foundation Grant Application Heritage, $3,450.00: This grant was awarded to be used for the implementation of a Pedals and Pavement Program to purchase bikes for Comal ISD Students.
  • 2016 - Graduate Assistant, $3,600.00: This grant was awarded to be used for the hiring of one graduate student to focus on research data collection and data entry

Dr. Barton-Weston began teaching in 2006 as a GA and Lab instructor at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). After teaching at UTSA, Northeast Lakeview, Northwest Vista and Palo Alto Community college as an adjunct faculty, she was welcomed to the University of the Incarnate Word in 2008. She began teaching theoretically based Health and Wellness courses in the Kinesiology, Sport Management and Community Health Education programs.
