Dr. Doeringer began his interests in teaching during his PhD program teaching in an undergraduate athletic training program. He continued the interest into his first job at Nova Southeastern University in undergraduate and graduate athletic training programs. Dr. Doeringer has taught Introduction into Healthcare Sciences, Applied Biomechanics and Interventions, Exercise Physiology, Healthcare Communication as well as graduate courses in MA of Science with Athletic Training.
Dr. Doeringer has taught courses related to sports medicine/athletic training including orthopedic evaluation, rehabilitation of sport injuries, emergency care and therapeutic interventions (exercise and modalities). He has also taught courses in exercise science related to kinesiology, strength and conditioning, health and wellness, and prevention and care of athletic injuries. He has taught "first year experience" seminars to incoming freshman to teach students how to thrive and be successful in college.
Dr. Doeringer's scholarship mission is to study the effects of therapeutic interventions on the body's recovery and progression through rehabilitation. Current studies involve the use of cryotherapy, self-myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and therapeutic cupping.
