Ms. Gutierrez has been a site evaluator for the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology for over 13 years, as well as a site evaluator for the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools for over nine years promoting educational excellence. Ms. Gutierrez has been named the "Who's Who Among American Teachers" twice.

Graduating from the last class of the Incarnate Word College before becoming the University of the Incarnate Word, Ms. Gutierrez has been in the field of nuclear medicine technology for over 25 years. Prior to a career in higher education, Ms. Gutierrez served as a nuclear medicine technologist at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital and Northeast Methodist Hospital. She currently serves as the Program Director of the Nuclear Medicine Technology program located within the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
