I began my interest in teaching during my Ph.D. program teaching in an undergraduate athletic training program. I carried that to my first job at Nova Southeastern University B.S. in Athletic Training and M.S. in Athletic Training professional programs. At UIW, I have taught courses in the Healthcare Sciences major including Introduction to Rehabilitation Sciences, Applied Biomechanics and Interventions, Exercise Physiology, Healthcare Communication and graduate courses in the Master of Science in Athletic Training.

Dr. Doeringer has taught courses related to sports medicine/athletic training, including orthopedic evaluation, rehabilitation of sport injuries, emergency care and therapeutic interventions (exercise and modalities). He has also taught courses in exercise science related to kinesiology, strength and conditioning, health and wellness, and prevention and care of athletic injuries. He has taught "first year experience" seminars to incoming freshmen to teach students how to thrive and be successful in college.

Dr. Doeringer's scholarship mission is to study the effects of therapeutic interventions on the body's recovery and progression through rehabilitation. Current studies involve the use of cryotherapy, self-myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and therapeutic cupping.
