Welcome to the Kinesiology Program.

The Kinesiology Program is for individuals interested in promoting positive exercise, physical activity, health and wellness behaviors in children and adults. The program of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree prepares students for three career paths (All Level Teacher Certification, Personal Trainer and Non-Certification). Graduates of the program have found employment as physical educators in Elementary and Secondary Private and Public Schools and Universities. Graduates may also prepare for work in the private sector, in camps or in fitness centers by choosing a non-certification or personal trainer concentration. Besides schools employment has also been found at public and private institutions like Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the Food Bank. UIW Kinesiology alumni have also found employment in a variety of other different fields that include physical educators, coaches, personal trainers, professional sport management, military, law enforcement, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and professional athletes. Many undergraduate alumni also pursue graduate degrees in Kinesiology, Sport Management, Business, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Details of the requirements for Teacher Certification are explained in the Education section of the bulletin.
